Pay-per-view coverage of the Grand Nationals is available through Bands of America. There are sevaral packages available. There are separate packages for the prelims ($14.95), semi-finals ($19.95) and finals ($24.95). Each must be purchased separately. You can order the packages and get more information from (We have no relationship with BOA and provide this for your information only.) The LHS Mighty Lion Marching Band placed third overall at the BOA Atlanta Super Regional Competition!! They were also awarded Outstanding Music Performance! Congratulations to all the band members and staff. The LHS Mighty Lion Marching Band earned the Grand Champion award at the 2008 Louisiana Showcase of Marching Bands competition! The band was also awarded First Place Band - Large Class, and First Place Band - AAAA/Open Class The Color Guard earned First Place Auxiliary - Overall, First Place Auxiliary - AAAA/Open Class and First Place Auxiliary - Large Class. Persussion was awarded Second Place Percussion - AAAA/Open Class. Congratulations to all of the band members for a job well done. Your hard work is definitely shining through. Ethan and Karen have been selected as members of the BOA Honor Band and will march in the Rose Parade this coming year. The students had to submit a 2 minute audition tape as well as a letter of recommendation from their band director. LHS Winter Guard competed in Dayton, Ohio at the 2008 Winter Guard International Color Guard World Championships. Preliminary competition included 140 teams, with only 45 teams making the semi-final round. LHS Varsity Winter Guard ranked 19th among the 45 teams making semi-finals !!! Congratulations Guard !
Try-out dates for the 2008 Fall Line will be April 14th-18th in the LHS Girl's Gym from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Our stay in New York was awesome! Unfortunately the hotel did not provide free wireless internet access so I posted only to my blog (landrypm.blogspot.com) via my cell phone. Youi can go over there if you would like to read those posts. We are now on the road to Washington, D.C. I am posting this from the bus using Mr. Thibodeaux's laptop with his cellular internet card. Thanks Mr. Butch! During the trip to New York we will be making an effort to post updates here. So check in daily for progress reports. Patrick Landry will also be posting on his blog.
